John Macklin from Antrim was court martialled in South Africa in 1797 and transported on the Barwell arriving in May 1798 for Mutiny was later pardoned he spent the rest of his life in Sydney, NSW and Hobart, Tasmania as a carpentar at the docklands. Having a child with Bridget Maloney from the MInerva, never marrying.

john actually had at least two more children in Australia, Mary macklin, his daughter, is my great great great grandmother!!
