Arthur (O')Keeffe m. Margaret Harrington on New Year's Day 1850 at Castletownroche.  Margaret, born ca. 1828, died a widow near Boston in the US in 1903.  I believe Arthur died in Ireland.

I have the following children for the couple, born in Ballyhooly & baptized at Castletownroche:

  • Ellen (b. 1851)
  • Mary (b. 1853)
  • Johanna (b. 1855)
  • Timothy (b. 1857)
  • Edmond (b. 1859)
  • John (b. est. 1860), m. Anna Campbell in Boston, d. there in 1917
  • Arthur (b. 1863), m. Mary Roche in Boston, d. in Chicago, probably in 1948
  • Elizabeth (b. 1866)
  • Michael (b. 1869), m. Nora Magner in Boston, d. near Boston in 1957
  • Andrew (b. 1871)

Other than the 3 I found in the US, I don't know what happened to the children (or their father Arthur for that matter).

The elder Arthur's parents may have been Timothy & Ellen.  Margaret's parents were Edmond & Mary, so the couple may have followed the traditional Irish naming pattern for their children.

  • Still, that's helpful.  Thank you.  You did confirm for me that it was he who died in 1948.  I knew an Arthur Keefe died in 1948, but I wasn't sure it was the correct one.

I have obituaries for Arthur's brothers John & Michael, & neither of those mention siblings either.  I haven't found an obituary for their mother.
