I am looking for information For James Brandon born abt 1812 in Tyrone County, his wife Matilda McElroy abt 1811 in Tyrone County. They were married in 1840 in Ireland. They had 7 children born in Omagh, Tyrone, Ireland: John 24Jan1841; Letitia 3Aug1842; Margaret 31Mar1844; Agnes 1846; William 15Dec1846; James 1849; Matilda 1851, died at sea Sept/October 1852. They also had 2 children born in Warwick, Ontario, Canada, Thomas 11Jun1856 and Matilda 24Feb1858.
James has 2 siblings that I know of: George born abt 1807 and Thomas abt 1821. There is possibly a brother named John.
James, Matilda and their children emigrated to Canada together. They departed from Liverpool, England on 12/13 September 1852 on the Constantine, Captain Richard L Bunting. They made port on 16 October 1852 in New York City, checked through Castle Garden depot upon landing. Then by wagon made their way to their new home and country, Warwick, Lambton, Ontario, Canada arrived 31 October 1852.
James Brandon's brother George married Jane McElroy (oldest sister of Matilda McElroy Brandon). Jane was born in Scotland and moved to Tyrone County with her parents. George Brandon moved to Warwick Twp., Lambton County, Ontario, Canada after the death of his wife Jane McElroy. After his brothers Thomas and James had passed away, George move to Erie, Pennsylvania, USA to be with his daughters. George is buried in Erie, Pennsylvania. Thomas, James and Matilda (McElroy) Brandon are buried in Warwick, Lambton, Ontario, Canada.

Hi thanks for your message.
Have you tried searching for James in the Tithes Applotment Books? These were a set of landrecords pertaining to Ireland dating from 1823 to 1838. You can search these here:
http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/search/tab/home.jsp
Some other websites that may be of help or interest to you are:
The National Archives of Ireland http://www.nationalarchives.ie/genealogy1/genealogy-records/introduction/
The National Library of Ireland http://www.nli.ie/en/family-history-introduction.aspx
The National Archives UK ? genealogy search: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/records/looking-for-person/
and
The Public Records Office of Northern Ireland http://www.proni.gov.uk/index/family_history.htm
Also do you know much about his emigration to Canda? Generally more information was given at the port of entry rather than departure. If you know the port where he arrived you may be able to find more information on him. A useful website is THe Library and Archives of Canada which can be found at http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/index-e.html
I hope some of these can help you in your search. Remember to post as much information as you can with regard to the people you are researching. The more information you post, the more likely it is that one of our volunteers will be able to advise or assist you. Also include information concerning which sources you may have already used so others may further your search.
Please be patient - as our programme has only begun to rollout across the island of Ireland and volunteers in some areas may not yet be organized.
Kind regards,
