Our family has traced the name Conley in the USA back to Connally in Ireland using ancestor.com. Knowing how records of names were made I suspect the spelling could be Connolly. We are in the process of getting more definitive information on our connection to a James Connally who was born circa 1650 in Ireland and his son Thomas Connally. The Genest Family Tree in Ancestor.com is public and can be viewed. If anyone has helpful information regarding any of these names below we would appreciate any assistance.
Starting with my maternal grandfather our lineage is as follows;
Benjamin F. Conley b.1887 in USA, his father
Benjamin B. Conley b.1865 in USA, his father
James Cub Conley b.1835 in USA, his father
Mason Stokes Conley b.1800 in USA, his father
Charles Connally b.1771in USA, his father
Thomas Connally b.1738 in USA, his father
John Connally b.1705 in USA, his father
Thomas Connally b.1673 in(?), d.1713 Lancaster Virginia, his father
James Connally b.1650 in Ireland, d.(unknown) in Lancaster, Virginia.
We have no evidence as to which Parish or even the Province in which he was born.

Hi Rob,
Thank you for sharing this information on Ireland Reaching Out.
Your family has obviously done a lot of work on your family history!Do you have any other information that you can post about the people listed? Even if you could post the name of the Parish that each lived in, there might be a greater chance that someone will recognise the names.
Remember to post as much information as you can with regard to the people you are researching. The more information you post, the more likely it is that one of our volunteers will be able to advise or assist you.
Also include information concerning which sources you may have already used so others may further your search.
Please be patient - as our programme has only begun to rollout across the island of Ireland and volunteers in some areas may not yet be organized.
Kind regards,
