My great-great grandmother Mary Ellen Duffy was born in Derrindaffderg in Nov. 1863 according to her death certificate in Mobile, Alabama, USA.  She emigrated to the U.S. then moved to Ontario, Canada and then back to the U.S. between 1901 and 1910.  We have information that her parents were James Duffy and Bridget Heneghan, but have not been able to confirm this in the parish records.  Any help is appreciated.  David Weise

    I have a Mary Duffy who was Baptised in Ballintubber on 16/11/1856 with John Duffy and Anne Heneghan as GodParents and James and  Bridget Heneghan as Parents and is noted as having gone to America. She had a brother James who went to Mobile Alabama and married a Cashin.

     

    Bridget, her mother is listed here in the 1901 census:

    Here's a photo of Mary Ellen Duffy.  Date and location uncertain. She married Daniel Bloodsworth Milmine in New York City in 1886 and they were in Canada in 1891.
