McILREE (McILLREE) family lived Clones, Monaghan 1719 and later
Any information about the McILLREE family of Clones, Monaghan would be most appreciated. (Often spelt in earlier years with one "l" or many other ways.
So far the only information relates to a Monaghan lease dating from 1719 that may relate to forebears or immediate descendants of the Robert McIllree, who married Frances Drope c. 1767 in County Cavan, from whom the Australian McIllrees are descended. The lease in the County of Monaghan, Parish of Clones, dating from 27 March 1719 was for three lives renewable forever, although the names of the lessor and lessee at the time are not mentioned. On 26 June 1839 the lease, to a tenant named Robert McIlree (with one ‘l’), was renewed for the lives of William Livingston, Edward Reilly and Henry McIlree, who were all alive at the time.
