My husband's parents were Gerald Patrick Mullaney and Margaret Mitchell apparently born in 1934 in Belfast but we cant find any birth records for them for this year or for Belfast. Gerald had brothers laurence, James, Desmond and a sister, Mary. Laurence went to Birmingham, the others??? Gerald and Margaret emigrated to New Zealand. Any one help please???

If you know when Gerald died you can order a death certifcate in order to obtain more information like parents names, date and place of birth.

unfortunately he died in NZ so his death certificate is whatever was recorded here when he emigrated. when we used that information to find his birth records we got "no records found". Its becoming a mystery with my husband recalling what his mum and dad told him (about being sent away to farms as children during the war) which flies in the face of his being recorded on the NZ electoral roll in 1946 making him at least 20 and a NZ citizen to be able to vote here only one year after the war ended!!
