Hello,
I am looking for information about Bridget McGourty born Feb. 2, 1929 in County Cavan. She died Aug. 29, 1902 in Sheenboro, Quebec, Canada. Married to to William Jennings in 1848, at Sheenboro, Quebec, Canada. Her parents were, Owen McGourty, and Ann Graser.
Any information you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Do you know where in Cavan she was born? Most Irish record sources are based on specific locations-usually parishes. Do you have any documentation pertaining to Bridget that mentions a more specific place such as a townland/parish/village?
Have you looked into her emigration much? Generally more information was given at the port of arrival rather than that of departure. If you knew where she entered Canada it may be a place to find more information-and perhaps even an exact place of origin. For immigration records in Canada check the National Library and Archives;here is their website: http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/index-e.html
Perhaps you could try searching for her parents in the Tithe Applotment Books. These are land records compiled between 1823 and 1837 in order to determine the amount which occupiers of agricultural holdings should pay in tithes to the Church of Ireland. If you can find either of her parents (and providing a large amount of results are not returned) it may give you a parish name. You can search these here:
