I am looking for my maternal great grandparents. My Nana said that she thought her parents (died when she was
very young) were from either Limerick, Cork or Sligo.
All we have is:
Peter Morris - (Stonemason) married to Catherine Gardner someplace in the Boston, Massachusetts area.
Catherine would have been born about 1860. No idea on Peter's birth.
We have a bible of Catherine's dated 1872 in Brockton, Massachusetts.
November 20, 1888 (date of my grandmother's birth), Peter and Catherine had my grandmother, Mary Ellen Morris, and they were living at:
23 Cedar Street
Boston, MA USA
Not much to go on, but any help is greatly appreciated

Hi there,
The information you have should be enough to track down your people in Ireland eventually. Almost all the Catholic church records from 1863 are available - and that sounds like the vintage of the people you are looking for... Have a think of when they might have come to the USA and look up the www.castlegarden.org (pre 1892) (the place people came to before Ellis Island which only opened in 1892. Some day, one of our parishes are going to be looking for Peter Morris and there'll be some clues to pick up on as a result of your message.
Please tell other friends who may have Irish heritage of the website!
