Dear Friends of St Annes Parish, Dublin: I have been trying to find my great great Grandfather, Maurice Kane born around 1800 who married Mary Catherine Mullen around 1838. They had a son, Patrick, around 1839 and immigrated to Quebec, Canada in the mid to late 1850s. Maurice was a farmer and they came to Canada during the potatoe famine. They settled in Bristol, Quebec and I recently was excited to find their tombstone at St Brigit's Parish in Bristol. However, the St Brigit's records do not show their birth place only their Country of birth. I have found seven Maurice Kane's in Griffith's Valuation and one is from St Anne's Parish so I am hopeful that this posting will lead me to finding Maurice, Mary Catherine and Patrick's Parish and County of birth.
If anyone recognizes these names or can provide advice on where to search next, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.
Regards
