Plumbridge is part of the civil parish of Bodoney Upper so it may be an idea to post this message on that parish page also.

It is possible that John may have been born, or a t least married here aswell so it may be an idea to check church records there for information. Most Catholic records are held locally. You could also try searching for records at Family Search. This is a huge database of genealogical records compiled by the Church of the Latter day Saints. It includes baptismal/marriage records for the period before 1871 (incomplete) you can search this here:

Civil registration began in Ireland in 1864, so you may be able to find record of John and Susan?s marriage here and also the birth records of their children. Civil registration records are available from the General Register?s Office in Dublin. Here is their website:

Do you know either John or Susan?s parents?? names? If you do you could look for some record of them in Griffith?s Valuation. This is a property valuation survey compiled between 1848 and 1864. You can search it here:

You may find record of any of the family that were still in Ireland at the turn of the century in the 1901/1911 census records. You can search these here:
