I am looking for Richard Hope, born February 1859 in Ireland. He married Mary Burk in New York (she was born in January 1866 in NY.)
Their Daughter Ella Hope, Is my Great-Great Grandmother.
Mary Burk's father was Thomas Burk, born 1835, Ireland. His wife, Mary, was born in 1842, Ireland. They immigrated to New York sometime before 1866, as their daughter Mary was born in New york.
Burk is spelled that way in the census, but obviously could be misspelled. I am assuming it could also have been Burke.

Kera, I am researching Thomas Burk born about 1799 in Ireland. According to the 1850 census, he was residing with my great-great grandparents in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. Do you know anything about your Thomas' parents?

I do not have information on his parents. I do have a census from 1870 stating that he is 35 years old and residing in Brooklyn, NY with his wife, Mary. They have 4 kids listed - John, William, Mary and Thomas. Although John, the oldest, may or may not be Mary's son since she is listed as 28 and he is 15 (that would have made her 13-14 when she had him).

I have just recently been able to find more on the Hope Family.
Richard Hope was born Feb 1859 in Rochfortbridge, Westmeath, Ireland. He died 11 AUG 1905 in Manhattan, New York, USA.
Richard's Father was Henry Hope, born: 1819, Rochfortbridge, Westmeath Ireland. Died 22 Nov 1892, Kilbride, Mullingar, Westmeath, Ireland. Henry Married Anne Cully somewhere around 1843. She was born 1826, (not sure where) and died 30 Jan 1903 in Kilbride, Mullingar, Westmeath, Ireland.
Henry Hope's Father was James Hope, born: 1797, (unknown). Died Jun 1882, Mullingar, Westmeath, Ireland.
