  • Hi

I hope you can assist!  I am searching for any information on the above, who was my grandfather.

I remember my mother saying he was from Ireland, Dublin I think.  He was born in 1880 and was a soldier in England by 1917.  However, I have searched passenger lists and cannot find out when he arrived and where he was from!!  His father was named Thomas Hart.  If anyone can give advice on how to find out more information on him, I'd be really grateful!!  Many thanks,

    Lauren Williams

  • William's family was not Catholic, They lived in Lancaster, Pensylvania. He was born

1816 to 1820.  Married Samantha Davis. He moved to Florida 1840 last found there

in 1880.  Do not know his fathers name only that he was from Ireland.   I would

imagine they were farmers  as that is what most people were back then and that

is what William did in Florida. William was illiterate and used a mark to sign his

name . He fought in the 2nd Seminole Indian war in Florida about 1840-1842.

They left Ireland before the Potato Famine , but left probably for financial reasons.

His son was Hagan Monroe Hart . Hagan is a surname from his Mother's side.

Thank you for your assistance. sorry I could not tell you more. Marlene Hart
