Was excited to see there's an event on in Adare Village March 28-31. I will be there!! By then Ihope to be staying somewhere in the area and having a whole month to soak up the atmosphere, the history and the genealogical connections! My Carmody family were from Kilfinny which I believe is not far from Adare. Michael Carmody married to Mary Maloney. Their son Patrick emigrated to Australia in late 1850's. His descendants are gathering in October in Brisbane to celebrate 150 years since his marriage to Mary Cawley from Co. Sligo and the many families since descended from them. Would be very excited to hear from anyone about any Carmody or Maloney connections or info. Thanks!

Hi Mary
Do you know about the Hannan - Carmody "gathering" in Kilfinny in August this year to celebrate FR Leo Shea's 50 years of priesthood? He lives in Boston but has chosen Kilfinny as the venue for the celebrations.
I am a direct decendant of the Hannan family, rather than the Carmody family but they are somewhat intertwined and the Hannan family still live on the farm at Kilfinny. I am making the journey from New Zealand and really looking forward to it as sounds like there will be a big group attending.
My email is cjhl@xtra.co.nz if you want me to give you Leo's email he has done some great research on his Carmody family which are probably linked to yours.
kind regards
Heather Maloney (still trying to find my husband's Molony/Moloney connection but from Limerick)
