My great grandmother Ellen Fahy was born in Ballindeerren and baptised in Kinvara in 1865 before coming to South Australia. her father was Patrick Fahy and her mother was Bridget Forde. I am interested in family information prior to 1865 and also any possible remaining family members still in the district

Hi,
Thanks for your message.
Again, you should be able to find information on the family prior to 1865 in Church records. Civil registration did not begin in Ireland until 1864, so births, marriages etc. before this date were only recorded in parish registers. To see what Catholic records are available from Kinvara parish follow this link:
If the family followed the Church of Ireland, you can see what registers are available here: http://ireland.anglican.org/about/42 and http://www.nationalarchives.ie/.
As I mentioned in my previous response to you, you should also try www.familysearch.org
You may also find record of the family in the two land acts pertaining to Ireland in the 19th century:
The tithe Applotment Books (1823-1838) found at http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/search/tab/home.jsp
and Griffith?s Valuation (1848-1864) found at http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/
Some other websites that you may find useful in your research are:

The National Library of Ireland http://www.nli.ie/en/family-history-introduction.aspx
