Simmons in Ireland.

Hi James,

This is a very long shot but here are three Simmons memorials from Clonfert, Co Galway. One way of identifying individual families is by looking the sequence of names. Generally the same names follow down through different generations in the one family. I hope this is of some use to you.

Sgt Richard Simmons from Clonfert served in the 12 Regiment of Light Dragoons... 19 yrs as Pte, 2 yrs as Corp and 8 yrs as Sgt. He had been a Weaver prior to enlisting (likelt the family profession) and was discharged, aged 49 years, on 29 May 1802.His service record is available on-line.

Interested in the service record for Sgt Richard Simmons.  The message tells me it is online.  Can someone tell me where to look for it?

Also Mr. James Simmons - if you live in Canada or maybe United States - I would be interested in comparing family information.  We may find we are related.
