Looking for information on "Maloney". Who was our first descendant?
The name has changed from Mayonnet, Mayonne, Mayloney, Melony, Maloney.
This is the information I have:
Joseph Mayonnet (seems all relatives came from Hochstadt, Germany or maybe Mainz, France). Joseph married Catherine Westcamp. Their son Michael Mayonne, born 1750, married Josette Vinet 1796 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Michael was a voyageur and innkeeper.
They had 8 children, their son Antoine born June 13, 1803, died December 25, 1877 is my first descendant (I have all the information from this line).
My mother Roberta Maloney always said she was "Irish"! My sisters and I will be coming to Dublin in August 2013. Any information you can provide is appreciated.
Thank you

Dear Francoise:
Many thanks for your message.
There is a certain amount of information online through the Clare County Library website that may be of interest to you. Their address is: www.clarecountylibrary.ie/genealogy. In addition, there are a number of links that might be of some help on that site with regard to Molonys.
Do you want to send me some of the information that you have that ties you to Tulla (if you think that it does?)? You can send it to me at tulla@irelandxo.com and I can take a look at it and see if there are any leads.
Let me know, and please if you are coming to Ireland in August, keep us posted as to your plans if you would like to visit County Clare.

Dear Francoise:
I have had a look at our parish registers in Tulla and I am unable to find anything with the information that you have given to me. In addition, I did a quick search in the Irish Tiimes website which has a genealogy section, and the name Westcamp does not appear.
I will keep your query on record, and if I can find anything else, I will let you know.
The very best of luck to you in your research.
Kind regards,
Jane.
