I am interested in the family of Austin Touhy and Mary Quin from Drumcliff or Ennis, Clare. They were married in 1852 and had the following children that I know of:
Mary born 1857
Sara born 1860
Pat born 1863
Ellen born 1865
Bridget born 1868
Ellen was my great, great grandmother who came to Australia. I would be interested in anything else to do with this family's ancestors or descendants that may have remained in Ireland or went elsewhere.

Hello,
I just read your message regarding Tuohy family from Ennis. I also have an Ellen Tuohy in my tree. She was from 'Carran Quin" Ennis and married James Conheady abt 1840. Their daughter Mary. migrated to Australia in late 1850's.
The dates don't match with your Ellen Tuohy but could be connected as they are from the same small area. Could there be a connection between your Austin Tuohy and my Ellen Tuohy as they would be of the same generation????.
This is a ' long shot' but sometimes that helps :)

Hi Bernadette
I guess there is a possible connection. I don't know anything prior to the marriage of Austin Tuohy and Mary Quin in 1852. If found their children's names in the baptism registers for Drumcliff. I think my Ellen came to Australia as a single woman in 1882 about the Bann. She married Heinrich Klein in Maryborough, Queensland in 1887, which is where my family is from.
Would love to share any info that we come across that would help.
Thanks
Glen Klein

Hello,
I just joined from Canada. I have a Maria Quin (born 1830, married to William Reidy 24 July 1857, died 12 January 1900 in Lifford Ennis). I believe her father was John Quin (died 1857).
