Hi, Just wanted you to know that I am looking into your names and see some interesting items.

I did a quick scan to see what all is out there so far as other published genealogies and there seems to be a little confusion with the intermixing of various persons of the same name. I've seen two different William McGladdery death dates and death places, but both tied to your family line.

From the looks of it all though, I would say that these two Williams are related through one means or another. Commonalities in family naming patterns and localities are consistent with what I have viewed so far.

Also did a quick breakdown on the various place names that are put out in all the published genealogies, with some very surprising results. All span the same area of about 25 miles distance from each other. Several of the place names are no longer in existence as a formal place name in anything except for a road name. Also noticed that all place names - although within this close distance of each other, are divided up into 4 different parishes during 1851, as well as 4 different Baronies.

Looked at a variety of items and did find a marriage record for Christina McNaughten and James McGladery 10 Sep 1858 Ahoghill, County Antrim. Christina was 17 and James 19.

Also found was a death certificate for Agnes Murdock (nee McKibbons), Lakewood, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, U.S. 21 Sep 1939. Agnes had married a man by the name of John Murdock. This death certificate gives Agnes? birth place as Ballymena, County Antrim and her parents are James McKibbons and Sarah Eliza McGladdery. There is also another birth showing in 1864 Birthplace and Christening showing as Ahoghill, County Antrim to James McKibbon and Sarah Eliza Mc Gladdery.

This same James McKibbon shows in Proni records PRONI Reference :D2158/1/23 http://applications.proni.gov.uk/LL_DCAL_PRONI_ECATNI/ResultDetails.aspx in connection to Jane McGladdery - widow, for the date of 12 Jan 1892, residence in Barnish County Antrim.  She has sold her estate and interest in land and premises in Clohogue (Cloghogue) County Antrim to James.  

There is a William McGladery listed in Griffiths valuation for 1860 Toome Upper Barony, Drummaul Parish, Cloghogue Townland, DED Cloghogue, Poor Law Ballymena.

I also saw a marriage record for a Margaret McNaughten married to Like McQuitty 27 Sep 1854. I am not so certain though this is Margaret McNaughten (nee Clarke) though. Some times if a persons father had already passed by the time of marriage, an uncle stood in place as the ?father?. One of the reasons I am considering this is another record which shows the name Margaret McNaughten, Luke McQuitty and a Margaret Clark ?R McNaughten (typed as the show it). It would not seem that the same person would be shown twice under two different names on the same record. The second reason that I do not think this is Margaret Clarke McNaughten is the age of birth of David McQuitty in 1864, 22 years after the births of her other children. It?s not unheard of for unexpected ?surprises?, just very unusual. His birth is also 1 year after James McGladdery and Christina McNaughten emigrated. Another item noticed was that a Colin David Luke McQuitty did emig to AU. Would this be the Luke McQuitty that married a Margaret McNaughten?

Last Name spellings vary according to the records as McGladdery, McGladery, McGladry, McGlathery, Clark, Clarke, McNaughten, McNaughton. Townland areas of familial ties look to be Ahoghill (Connor Parish), Ballymena, Cloghogue (Drummaul Parish), (Donegore/Grange of Nilteen Parish). There is also the possibility of familial ties to Craigarogan (Templepatrick Parish)

I am fairly confident I can help you with the Drummond side (Jane Drummond). My great/great/great/great grandparents were John and Mary Jane Drummond (he was an elder in First Donegore) living in Ballyhamage in around 1839. I believe they were born in around 1790/92 but I have yet to confirm that. I do have a letter from John and he names several of his children by name, including "his Jane."  His land is also in Griffith's valuation in Ballyhamage. They had 10-12 children born between 1808 and the late 1820s. I believe that the Jane you refer to could be their niece however, not their daughter. John and Mary also had a daughter named Jane but she married someone named Thomas Bell and she emmigrated to the USA in the 1850s. Most of John and Mary's children emmigrated to the USA.

However, I believe that John had a brother (also from Ballyhamage) named Robert who had many children. His wife was Marie (all of this is in the first presbyterian records). I have yet to confirm 100% that John and Robert were brothers, but they were both from Ballyhamage, both having children about the same time, and their children shared the same names. Amongst them were John, Thomas, William, Henry, James, Charles, Jane, Agnes, Mary, Martha, Margaret, Babara and several others. I noticed that Jane had children of the same names as several of the above. While Drummond is a popular name in Scotland, there were not that many in Donegore Parish during this time so I think we have a plausible match. By the way, someone else contacted me recently about a Jane Drummond from Antrim Co. I can connect you as well.
