James HYDE was born about 1847 in either County Down and County Cork, per the Pennsylvania 1880 census. The only other record found for him is a Declaration of Intent which was filed in Venango County,Pennsylvania.
James Hyde married Sarah FURIEY,who was the daughter of Matthew & Sarah nee McCovera Furiey about 1868 ,somewhere in Pennsylvania
Sarah presumably was born about 1850 in County Down as were her parents and it's believed they came together to America about 1864,per the 1880 & 1900 Pennsylvania census for Sarah.
Matthew FURIEY,believed to have been born about 1820 and his wife,Sarah Ann McCOVERA was born about 1816...their Pennsylvania census record entries, show only Ireland as their birthplaces.
Matthew's surname is also seen spelled as FERRY & FURY.

Hello Marianne,
If you go to root ireland.ie and put in james hyde you will get many hits. go down the page and tick the cork and down counties. You will find tht there are 5 james Hydes listed in cork one of whom was born in 1847. If you go to genealogy centre at left of page click on the map and click cork (only half of cork is on this site the other half can be found at www.irishgenealogy.ie ) . You will get to a bar marke parish/district. Click on the little triangle for the drop down menue and gradually search each parish. It halves the job if you know what his religion was.
You can do the same for the other parties you're looking for in Down.
Kind regards,
Anne K Dennehy
