My relative is William Moore born June 24 1832 in Ireland and come over when he was 18 so that would be 1850. There is a rumor he came over with his brother but I am not for sure. I know he married S Elizabeth Baird September of 1872 in Stewart County Tennessee. I have all the information going forward but none of it going back. I am looking for any information about William's past. I would like to find out where in Ireland we are from who I am related to etc.

Just did a quick search using www.rootsireland.ie 12 results for the name William Moore born in 1832, name is a bit common to get a better result unfortunately
A passenger record search for around 1850 gives one result for a William Moore age 18, he was a tailor

Best advise I can give for now is to get hold of all the official documents in the USA, do you have his marriage certificate for example? , this might give his fathers name or even his place of birth

I just posted another post because I thought this one didn't post. I'm sorry I am still learning the site. The marriage license I have is illegable but I will attach it to see if you can make heads or tails of it. Their names come up in a couple of census reports but still doesn't give me any back information that I can find. Here is the post I reposted. I am looking for information on William Moore born June 24 1832 in Ireland. I have tried every search I can think of to find my Irish roots but they stop at William. The limited information I have about him was he was born in Ireland (I don't know where) and we believe he came to America when he was 18 or so. There is a rumor he came with his brother and that they lost touch once here. He eventually moved to Tennesee and married S Elizabeth Baird (could be Eliza or something similar but pretty sure it is Elizabeth) September 23, 1872. They had 4 children (that I know of) Margaret, Louise, Michael, and an infant that died but I don't have a name. He died June 18, 1905 in Tennesee. We believe Dickson County but not 100% sure on it.
