Hello, I am new to this site but will endeavour to put as much detail as I can.

I was taken away from my mother at the age of six and placed in institutions till the age of 16 when I left and came over to England. I had very little information about my family but found my mother, I lived with her for two years before she died in 1969.

I know that my fathers name was John(Jack)Kehoe born 1923 from Coolishal Gorey, from his birth cert his fathers name is Michael Kehoe a Labourer and his mothers name Elizabeth Murphy they were down as living in Coolishal. I cannot seem to find out where they ended up. I have no age for them, I do know that my father died in 1999 age 75 in St Johns hospital Enniscorthy.

I managed to find my fathers baptismal info from the RC Church in Ballycannew. His sponsors names were Richard Brennan and Margaret Murphy. Any help or information would be appreciated.

Thank you in anticipation

Tommy

    Hello Tommy,

I think that if you found a civil record of your grandparents deaths it would tell you where they died. Civil registration records are available from the General Register Office (GRO). These start from 1864. You can access the website here: http://www.groireland.ie/research.htm

If you find out where it was you could then search cemeteries close to the place. I found some gravestone transcriptions online but it is a limited number  of locations

Also you could check for an obituary in a local newspapers archive which could contain more information.

Best of luck with your search,  Michael.
