Hello Dolores (I'm a Dolores as well!),

I have sent the query to our Tullamore volunteers but received no leads as yet.

I also sent it to a Brian Guinan but he wrote

"I don't think so as dates don't tie up. My great grandfather Patrick Guinan from Ballycumber born circa 1847 married 31/01 1869 did have a daughter Ellen born 08/09/1876."

There are 10 Guinans in the Tullamore residentail phone book so still quite a few of them around!

Have you contacted the Midlands Genealogy Centre? They would do an initial search for a small fee (?10) -- if we could find a definite placename, it would help us on the ground to make a connection.

So nice to talk with another Dolores (with the same spelling)!!!   Thank you for your reply and I definitely will contact the Irish Midlands Ancestry and let them know you recommended them to me.  I really don't have much info on the Burke/Guinan family.  I know my grandmother Bridget Burke was born in Tullamore and her parents were Michael Burke and Ellen Guinan, the civil parish was Kilbride, Barony of Ballycowan. She had a brother Thomas and two sisters, Mary and Anne.   I think the Burke's lived on Charles Street.  Ask me any questions that might help you and I will try to answer them.  Any help is so greatly appreciated.  My husband and I traveled to Ireland in 2010 and we visited Tullamore.  It's such a beautiful country and hopefully someday soon we can return.

Hi I am really hoping someone here can help. I found a mariage certificate for a Kathleen guinan but no death certificate for Kathhleen who was also known as Kitty. Thomas sometime before 1965 went to london with his lover Mary O'Donnell his Grandchildren (My biological cousins) all were told Kathleen was dead. I am wondering if it is true or if she is still alive and if she is still alive I would like to make contact with her as I would be her Granddaughter. Thomas had 2 daughters in England with him Angela and Katheryn he would have 4 more out of wedlock with hs lover and they never married making me wonder if it was only her husband whowas the issue and not that Kathleen was still alive. Any help would be very appreciated
