Looking for Abraham Gordon married to Margaret who may also have been a Gordon prior to marriage. They had a daughter Ellinor born around 1791 and I think there was a son Wiliam.

Hi Cas,
Thank you for your message.
Unfortunately, Catholic records for the parish do not begin until 1846:
Church of Ireland records sometimes tend to have earlier start dates so if this was their religious denomination you may be able to find some records here. Most surviving Church of Ireland records are still held by the local clergy, although some are in the National Archives of Ireland and others are in the Representative Church Body Library in Dublin. Here are their websites: http://www.nationalarchives.ie/ and http://ireland.anglican.org/about/42
Lists of these surviving registers can also be found at the National Library of Ireland.
Here is a websites that you may also find useful: http://www.genealogylinks.net/uk/ireland/tyrone/index.html
It gives you links to the different genealogy resources//pages for Tyrone.
It may also be an idea to contact the Irish World Heritage Centre in Tyrone for assistance-a fee may apply. Here is their email: info@irish-world.com
Please be patient - as our programme has only begun to rollout across the island of Ireland and volunteers in some areas may not yet be organized.
Kind regards,
