William Francis Anderson
Born in Ireland 17th August 1845, was a curator of gardens. His parents names were Thomas Anderson and Ann Evers, this is all the information I have dating back to Ireland. He arrived in Australia in 1877. I am trying to find his family history in Ireland.
Would be greatful for any information.

www.rootsireland.ie has a William Anderson listed with father Thomas and born in 1845 county Sligo.
Our site has a special board for Sligo, I suggest you also post a message there as there are local people involved who might be able to help you further and find out if this William is your William Anderson

I have just noticed your post of 1/4/2013, and if you see this I think that your fellow may be the same I am looking for. My search is not so much genealogical as a search for the employment history of William Francis Anderson who was head gardener and in turn Curator of Parks in Townsville, Queensland. I know that he lived from 1845 to 1935 and was employed by Townsville City Council from 1878 until 1934 (age 88). Anderson Gardens, one of Townsville's three Botanic Gardens, is named in his honour. I am trying to get any information I can as I also have an interest in this garden. Regards, Keith.
