Robert:
Here is the marriage index record for Patrick and Catherine. If you want a copy of the actual civil record, you would need to write to the GRO www.groireland.ie fill out their form and provide the year, registration district (Cavan) and the volume and page number. The record should show the townlands where they were from.
You don't mention whether Patrick and Catherine stayed in Ireland or emigrated.

Hello Roger,Thank you for your help.I have a question for you.On the paper you e-mailed me it says Spouse Forename:Mary,Spouse Surname:Corr 2nd Spouse Forename:Catherine 2nd Spouse Surname:Gaffney. Now, I understand Catherine Gaffney married Patrick Tully but who is Mary Corr? Also I know that Patrick and Catherine's son Edward(my Great Grandfather) immigrated to the U.S in I believe 1887 but I don't know if Patrick or Catherine went also..Sadly I'm not very good with my Computer so if my questions seem stupid please forgive me. Bob:
I don't have the exact answer to your question about Mary Corr and why she is listed but I think it has something to do with the way the marriages are recorded on the page in the registration book. Mary would have been married to someone else. I've have seen marriage index records where the spouse in question was the fourth spouse.
Once you find out the townland, you can check out the 1901 census to see if Patrick and Catherine were still alive in 1901.

Bob: While looking for information about my family, Bradys and Heerys, I've come across the mention of Gaffneys and Tullys. I had a great uncle, Anthony Brady from Relaghmore in Co. Cavan who married an Ellie Gaffney from adjacent townland of Relaghbeg in 1911. They had a stormy relationship 1920-1939. Ellie was part of the Gaffneys who had 4 farms in Relaghbeg, Co. Cavan, near Tierworker, Moybologue, and the Meath border. People in the area now say "the Gaffneys were parachuted in from West Cavan by a landlord who gave them the best 4 farms in the area." I don't know how true this is. Anyway, the Gaffneys operated a Public House with the Tully family at "the crossroads" in Relaghbeg. It is now operated by the Smith Family. I don't know if they intermarried. I do know that the Gaffneys were intermarried with the Plunketts and the McKeons (who have windows in St. Patrick's Church in Tierworker). I know all this from 50 letters in my possesion that my great-uncle Anthony Brady wrote in 1910 through 1940 to a sister in America and from a Heery relative still in the area. While having marital difficulties with his wife Ellie Gaffney in the 1920's and until her death in 1939, she enlisted the aid of her Plunketts, McKeons, and Tullys. Anthony Brady was threatened by them all as he tried to keep his farm in Relaghmore. Not much in the way of facts from ledgers and record books, but personal information about possible relatives in any event.
Good luck and have fun while searching.
