In the 1833 Tithe Applotment Books, there is a James Tully listed as living in Rinifarna and in Rinefarna townland in Kilglass parish. However, I cannot find this townland on the map of Kilglass parish in the Leitrim-Roscommon site and it doesn't come up in the Loagin placenames site. Did this townland disappear?
I am interested because there ware Hasty's living in Rattinagh in 1833 and I'm looking for a Catherine Hasty + John Tully marriage. There were other Tully's in Kilglass parish in 1833 - in Druminmore, Drumman More, and Drumminnion, which may be all the same place, I suppose, since there was only Drumman more in the Griffith's.
Looking forward to hearing your answer!
Thank you very much!

Cindy:
Rinefarna is a subdenomination. See the link below for a better explanation but basically a subdenomination is part of a townland. Initially, I thought that Rienefarna was a subdenomination of Knockhall townland but after comparing the 1833 Tithe records with the 1857 Griffiths records, I believe Rinefarna is a subdenomination of Drumman More townland.

Hello Roger,
Thank you very much for this information. I never would have found it! I was trying to make a connection to a Tully/Hasty marriage. They were living in Cornacarta, Annagh parish, Mayo in 1851. But the Tullys were supposed to have come there from somewhere in Co Roscommon. I have a feeling that Kilglass is too far away but it's the only place I have found Hasty's and Tully's living in the same parish.
On the other hand, if you come across a Tully family which has an Owen grandfather and a John, Patrick and Bartly in it, I would be very interested. It looks like there may have been a Bartly Tully in Drumman more in 1833 but I'm not sure. I will have to try to see the original.
Thanks again,
Cindy
