Hi Jimmy,
Thank you for your message.
Church records for Co. Kerry are now available online free of charge as part of Irish Genealogys project to upload church records to their website. You can search these records here:
http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/
A useful websites when it comes to Catholic records is the Irish Times as they give an overview of what records are available in specific parishes. For Dunquin/Kilmelchidar parish follow this link:
Births, deaths and marriages that occurred after 1864 will also be recorded in civil records as civil registration began in Ireland in 1864. Civil records are available from the General Register?s Office in Dublin. Here is their website:
http://www.groireland.ie/research.htm
You can search the indexes to these records online at:
https://familysearch.org/search/collection/1408347
You could also check the 1901/1911 census records for information on any family that were still in the area at the time: http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/
For information on their emigration you should try finding their ship passenger record in US Archives as generally more information was given at the port of arrival. http://www.archives.gov/research/immigration/
Also check:
Castlegarden: http://www.castlegarden.org/
The Boston Pilot; http://infowanted.bc.edu/
Some other more general websites that you may find helpful are:
The National Archives of Ireland http://www.nationalarchives.ie/genealogy1/genealogy-records/introduction/
The National Library of Ireland http://www.nli.ie/en/family-history-introduction.aspx
Genealogy links: http://www.genealogylinks.net/uk/ireland/kerry/index.html

Kerry Local Studies: http://www.kerrylibrary.ie/local.asp
I hope that some of this is helpful.

Dear Jimmy, I found the place of origin you describe spelled Glanfahan. In 1901 there are 74 people living there incl a Boland family.
In the 1911 census Glanfahan is now spelled Fahan and there are still Bolands there
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Kerry/Ventry/Fahan/282765/
There is land listed in the name of Denis Boland in Fahan, Ventry here
http://www.valoff.ie/search/search_summary.asp
Sometimes this information is slightly out of date but if you contact directory enquiries they can tell you if there is a phone listed for this name. I feel very excited as you may have living relatives. Please do let us know if this turns up trumps for you.
Martine
PS Here are all the Boland, Kerry records online note that we now have a spelling Fawn for Fahan/Glanfahan

Hi Jimmy,
Both Boland and Connor are very common names in this area. Glanfahan is in the Ventry area. I have been doing diditalisation of Dingle RC Parish baptisms from 1828 thru 1836 that were missed during the original conversion. It is not finished but I found the following entry. These are prior to your time frame but may be of interest.
Father Mother Sponsors
Bolan John 123 M Patrick Bolan Mary Connor Glenfahan Patrick Bolan Ellen Murphy 18 10 1829 Rev Mr Hartnett Regards,

A maternal ancestor was Maurice Gahan (b.1814), who was born in Dunquin. His name was spelled something like Muiris O Guithin. He was the brother of Pieg Sayers O Guithin's husband. Would there be any records related to Maurice in Dunquin parish? Thanks much.
