My grandfather, John Wade, was born in 1882 in, or near, Clonakilty. He had one brother, Jerry, and a sister. His brother, and then he, emigrated to America. His sister emigrated to Canada. He and his brother came to an aunt in Taunton, Massachusetts.
He had a relative who lived at No. 11 Barracks Hill (now MacCurtain Hill) in Clonakilty, Co. Cork.
He was Catholic. His family was poor. I find very little material on people with the surname Wade from Ireland, especially with those demographics.
I wonder if I have, yet, any Wade relatives in Clonakilty.

Hi. Thank you for your message.
My great grandmothers maiden name was Irene Jane Wade.
Her fathers name was Listed on her marriage certificate as William Wade and her mother as Mary Lincoln. However, on my great grandmother's obit. her father was listed as George Wade and her mother as Mary ( Lula ) Lincoln.
She married Edward Heartwood Perry in Middleboro Ma. at the Middleboro congregational church.
in 1915.
Athough my mother said that her family was from Cork I haven't found anything to proove that.
I wonderred if you might have seen her or her parents names show up in your searches.
Best Regards,
Lawrence Keith Rubadou

Hello, I am interested in linking up with anyone knowing anything about Wades in Clonakilty. My grandmother's grandfather was Patrick Wade born Clonakilty in about 1854. By 1881 he has moved to Cardiff where he marries and has a family. His father was Eugene Wade. I have not found Patrick's birth or any sign of Eugene. You say that you are related to the family in Clonakilty on the 1901 and 1911 census which has a Eugene Wade. I wonder if there is a link? Have also found British army records for two men called Eugene Wade from Clonakilty who must be the men on the census.
Would love to hear from you.

My Jeremiah Wade married Ellen Collins probably in Clonakilty about 1835. They were in London in 1850
Does anyone know the family?
Thanks Maureen

Hello
Yes, I think Jeremiah is in my tree. He had a brother Owen/Eugene b 1804 d 1884 in Clonakilty, he married Margaret Long in 1833 in Clonakilty. Their son Patrick b 1853 was my g g grandfather.
Jeremiah and Ellen had two children born in Clonakilty in the parish registers, Jeremiah b 1837 and Eugene b 1847. The death registers have not been microfiched - I wonder if they died in the famine as they are not with the family on the London 1851 census.
Do you know who Jeremiah's parents were?
Thanks
