Trying to trace the parents of brothers John and James Comerford, born at Ballyline ? in about 1874 and 1876 respectively. They both moved to Manchester, England in their early 20's, and are both listed in the 1901 and 1911 UK Census. Any information about them and their family would be appreciated.

TIA:
Go to www.familysearch.org and search birth index records for James and John. It looks like James was born in March 1872 to John Comerford and Ellen (no maiden name shown). There is a baptismal index record and a civil registration record. The second record below is the civil record. You can write to the GRO www.groireland.ie and request a copy which will provide the parents names and where they lived. Fill out the GRO form and provide the registration district (Callan), year, volume and page number. You can follow the same search for John. It appears he was born in 1870. Let me know if you have further questions.

Thanks for your quick reply, Roger. From LDS I have John and James being born to John and Ellen in 1870 and 1872 respectively. John jnr is listed there as being born at Kilmoganny, whilst James is listed as being born in Ballyline according to the UK 1911 Census. The two places are either side of Callan, perhaps 15 Km apart. I'll try a bit more research, but it does look promising.
Thanks for your help.
