Ellen Lordon, daughter of Jeremiah & Ellen Lordon (maiden name of mother unknown) came to New South Wales,Australia in 1850 on the emigrant ship 'John Knox'. Ellen gave the information that both her parents were dead and that her native place was Bandon, Cork.
in 1859 Ellen's husband, William Heffernan, sponsored Bridget Lordon to Australia. Bridget married Israel Meyers and upon her death in 1909, her parents were named as Jeremiah & Nellie, and that she was born in Eniskean, Cork.
Any help in finding out where Ellen & Bridget may have been born and baptised and whether they had siblings would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks for the information re Bandon-Genealogy and Church Records
I was rather surprised to find many names of Irish Orphan girls who arrived on the vessel 'John Knox' in 1850 but not our Ellen Lordon. Her sister Bridget is there arriving on the 'Ben Nevis' in 1856. Ellen and her husband William Heffernan sponsored Bridget's passage to Australia.
I have sent an email to the site to have Ellen's name inserted on the list.
Once again many thanks for the above information
