My 2xGGrandfather was James MOORE from Murroe, bp 1827.
(These are all Catholics, from the RC parish of Murroe & Boher. I note the Abington civil parish introduction on this site mentions only the CoI Parish, so just wanted to clarify).
My 2 x GGrandfather James MOORE bp: 24 Oct 1827, Murroe, d. 1893 Australia
His parents are Philip MOORE and Bridget WRENN married 1826, Murroe, who both died before Sep 1854.
Their children were:
James bp. 1827 Murroe, d. 1893 Australia
John bp. 1829 Murroe d. 1895 Australia
Margaret bp. 1832 Murroe
Catherine bp. 1834 Murroe d. 1892 Australia
Ellen bp. 1837 Murroe d. 1897 Australia
Thomas bp. 1842 Murroe d. 1924 Australia
James migrated to Australia 1854 along with Catherine. John, Ellen and Thomas followed all within 3 years. I don't know what happened to Margaret.
Names associated with this family through the children's baptismal sponsors are:
Thomas CORBETT,
John DOHENY,
Bridget HAYES, George HAYES, Margaret HAYES, Nelly HAYES,
Biddy MOORE, Mary MOORE, Patrick MOORE,
Mary RYAN, Michael RYAN
Denis WRENN.
I'd love to find out if there are any more records of this family in Murroe, and if there are any relatives still living there today. Were there a lot of MOOREs in the parish in the early 1800s, or are all MOOREs from that period in Murroe likely to be related?
Thanks for any help
Pam

Hey Pam ,
There are 13 marriage records in Murroe for Moore men and 15 for Moore Women
There are also over 100 births of Moores between 1814-1899 in the records
I would say that somewhere along the way the All the Moores in Murroe over the years are all related. There are still Moore living in Murroe today and I would say that they are relations in some shape or form - but may take some figuring out.
The land Records like the Tithe applotments of 1826 and griffiths Valuations of 1851 wouls help in sorting out individual families because land was passed down through the generations and people never really travelled to far in those times.
Let me know if you have any questions
