I received information in 1977 that said my great, great grandfather, James Faricy was born in Enniskean, County Cork in 1822.  James married childhood sweetheart, Bridget Nyhan.  Their 12 children were born in the United States, Credit River Township, Minnesota.

I am bringing my family to Ireland in September of this year and would like to know my family roots, if any relatives are still living and where.

Thanks,

Mike Faricy

I looked at the 1852 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Co. Cork and there were no Faricy records. However, there were about 20 Farrasey, Farrassy, Farrissy, or Farrasy records so I'm speculating that your g-g-grandfather James may have had one of those surnames. Enniskeen is in Kinneigh civil parish Only one of the Griffiths records was for Kinneigh parish--Julia Farrasy of Sleenoge townland.
