  • william,

I have tried reading both your posts but I don't have the time to try and make out what you are saying.  Would it be possible to use punctuation, spacing and paragraphs to make the job a little easier for us over here, who log on to this website to try and help the Irish diaspora.

    Just a suggestion,

    regards,

    Anne

  • William,

I went onto www.irishgenealogy.ie (free site) and looked up Isabella dycher (as it's such an unusual name).  I found one record for an Isabella Dycher marrying an Edward Eade in 1865.

I almost dismissed this record as the husband's name was incorrect, but something made me click on the image of the original record and it is quite clear that whoever transcribed it did so incorrectly.  The handwriting of the registrar could read like Eade however at the end of the document where the parties sign, it is quite definitely Earl.

The names are so rare and unusual that I think you need to look at this record.

Hope this helps you in your search,

    Regards,

    Anne Dennehy

  • You're welcome William,

As Edward was in the Royal artillary before he became a gamekeeper, you may be able to find out more from military records in the English National Achives.  They have muster rolls and pay lists for Irish county militia and volunteer regiments dating from last 18th century to late 19th century.  try looking at www.originsnetwork.com.
