my GG Grandparents arrived from Ireland to the USA cir. 1842/1844
William Sullivan and Ellen (unknown surname) b 1824 Limerick
Ellen was only 18 yrs old, and pregnant when in 1843 Wm drowned in the river behin their home in
Albany, New York .
The baby born was Mary Sullivan in 1843.
Mary Sullivan was called Mary McCarthy in USA Fed Census
The story goes, Cornelius McCarthy the cousin of Wm Sullivan was also in love with Ellen and came to the USA immediately and married her.
Cornelius McCarthy and Ellen had nine (9) more children, ten (10) including Mary Sullivan
