Am searching for Francis Troy, wife Ann Whelan. Daughter Jane born about 1833, emigrated to Australia.

Jane arrived in Port Phillip on the 14 May 1849 on the ship ‘Pemberton’ at the age of 18 years, as an orphan from Roscrea , Tipperary Ireland. Roman Catholic religion, a house servant who couldn’t read or write.

She arrived in Portland on the 26 May 1849 and married widower George Smith 28 June 1852.

Any assistance with information about this family would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Betty Sherry

The 1850 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Roscrea civil parish shows a Francis Troy in Tullaskeagh townland. There were also nine Whelans listed in the parish. http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/tipperary/roscrea.htm
