Hi Patsy,
Thank you for your message.
Have you tried looking at church records for information on Thomas? Bunclody belongs to the Catholic parish of Newtownbarry. Records for the parish began in 1834 so if Thomas was born after this you should be able to find his birth record.
Most records are still held locally so it may be a good idea to contact the local parish priest for possible assistance. Here is the link to the parish contacts:

If the family were Church of Ireland, the parish registers are available here:

Do you know Thomas? father?s name? If you do you may be able to find record of him in the land records pertaining to Ireland in the 19th century. They don?t offer any genealogical information but can sometimes be used to tie a person to a specific place. There are two:
The Tithe Applotment Books (1823-1838) found at http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/search/tab/home.jsp
and Griffith?s Valuation (1848-1864) found at http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/
Some other websites that you may find useful are:
The National Archives of Ireland http://www.nationalarchives.ie/genealogy1/genealogy-records/introduction/
The National Library of Ireland http://www.nli.ie/en/family-history-introduction.aspx

Hi Thomas,
The civil parish of Ballyanne belongs to the Catholic parish of Old Ross/Cushinstown. Records there start as early as 1759 so you should be able to find something in these records:
As I mentioned in the post above, most Catholic records are still held locally so I suggest you contact parish priest. Here is a link to their contact page:
