My Grandfather John Mahony - son of William Mahony (Blacksmith) and Catharine Shea - was born in Ballytibbot 1873.
They lived at 9 Ballytibbot
He was Baptised in Aghada by Rev Richard Smiddy
Can anyone tell me if the house is still standing?
Which Church would he have been Baptised in?
Any information about the family would be appreciated.
Many Thanks
Francis

If he was baptised by Canon Smiddy in Aghada then i may have been in the Parish church which is no longer standing apart from the Belfry. I would have thought he would have been baptised iBallinrostig and that church is still there.
By coincidence I was looking at a headstone today in Corkbeg which reads
I H S
Erected
By John Mahony in
Memory of his wife
Catherine Shea who
Depd Life July 14th 1818
Aged 66 years
May she rest in peace Amen
?Any connection I wonder

I am not sure if my last email was sent
Thank you for your help
The gravestone you viewed is too early for my Grandfather.
Are the houses in Ballytibbot still standing?
Where would I obtain a list of local history books?
Appreciate it if you can help

I am also searching for the Mahoney line my great grandmother was Mary married to Geroge Wafer of Inch, I believe she is the daughter of Patrick Mahoney and Anastatia Kennedy born in Titeskin-Marbin
about 1808. Since there are so many Mahoney does anyone know when they came to this area why.
Also, my grandmother Bridget Delia Kennedy daughter of Cornelius Kennedy of Lahard married Thomas Wafer of Inch in San Francisco 1892. Have a lot of info if any one is interested. Thanks Patty Davis
