I have found who  think would be my Great Great Grandfather. His Name is Patrick Donohoe. He died on 17 Jan 1865.  He was 94 at the time of Death and it says he was a Mason. The Informant:  was a Patrick Donohoe it also states,  Qualification: Occupier which I do not know what it means.  His Residence:  was Clonea as was his pleace of death. My Great Grandfather is Maurice the 1901 censes has his place of Residence Residents of a house 3 in Cushcam (Clonea, Waterford. At this time he was 42 years of age. In the 1911 census he is at Residents of a house 8 in Ballymacmague, South (Colligan, Waterford 53 year of age and he spells his name different. Maurice Donnoghue. I am pretty sure they are the same persons. What I would love to find out are there still any family there. I have been looking and have had GREAT help from people on here. ANY HELP I WOULD FOR EVER GRATEFUL.  I thank you for your time Edward D Cavanaugh Sr.

PS if I am please missing anything please let me know. ALSO THE SPELLING HAVE REALLY BEEN HARD RESEARCHING.

  • Edward, can you give me an email at eddie.cantwell@gmail.com

I have quite a bit of stuff on the Donoghue family in this area , Indeed I am friends with some of them.

Don't worry too much about the spelling from official records, this includes Griffiths and parish records and indeed the census, they can all be wrong with spellings, dates etc.Even down to church records, which can be the worst!

I have posted Kilgobinet graveyard to www.historicgraves.ie you can click on this link and go there.

but most of the Donoghues are buried at Garranbane graveyard which was part of Kilgobinet going back in time. All the records have not been transcribed by me as of yet, but Garranbane is. sdo, go there and you will see the Donoghue headstones.

look forward to hearing from you

    Eddie
