I am trying to find information about the Harris family who I think brought up my mother-in-law and her twin brother from 1920. I think she was brought up by a Mary Anne Harris of 4 Westpark Rd, Glasnevin. She is shown as having 10 children in 1911 the youngest of which is Charlotte Louisa ?b.1911. My mother-in-law was born in 1920 and when she joined the WRAC in 1940 she gave her contact/next of kin as a Mrs Harris of Santry Court. She corresponded with a Lottie Kane for many years until her death and I believe that this was Charlotte Harris - who married Henry Kane. If anyone knows of the Harris /Kane family who may be able to help I would love to hear from you to fill in some big gaps in mother-in-laws childhood.

Hi, I may be able to help you. I need to contact my brother in law for details but my husband remembers an Alan Harris born around 1960, whose father owned a tyre company in Red Cow Lane off Smithfield , I think. They lived opposite Santry Demesne and Alan had a grandmother on Botanic Ave. Alan also had a sister. There were/are (?) Kanes on Griffith Avenue .There was also a Webb who lived in Cremore Villas ( Ballygal Road East ) whose daughter married a Kane .She may well be the the wife of the Kane on Griffith Ave. My sister used to play with their children- Avril, Heather and Ernest.
My brother in law can be difficult to contact but I will be in touch once I hear from him. If you give me your email address I/he could contact you directly.
