Hi- I am looking for 2 families who came from Foxford/Straide who ended up in Scotland. The names are McCaffery and Ford. I know the records for this area have not survived but would love to know more about these families if possible. If there are still families by these names in this area that know of family in Scotland.

 Any help would be much appreciated!

    Thank you very much for your message, I hope that someone with information makes a connection with you.In the meantime, do you have any further information that you can share that may help our volunteers further your research? Information such as:

    • Forenames of parents/siblings/children
    • Important dates that may help establish a timeframe e.g. birth/marriage/death/emigration dates
    • When did they emigrate? Did any family stay behind?
    • Religious denomination

    Remember to post as much information as you can with regard to the people you are researching. The more information you post, the more likely it is that one of our volunteers will be able to advise or assist you. Also include information concerning which sources you may have already used so others may further your search.
