McGowans in Ardcarn, Roscommon

My GGF was Daniel McGowan, born abt 1840 in Roscommon Co.  I don't know his townland of birth. His father's name was either Dominic or Thomas McGowan (hard to read the given name of the father on Daniel's birth cert).  Daniel had a brother called "Harry."

I know that in the 1857/58 Griffith's Valuation for Ardcarn, there were two families with the surname McGowan.  I'm wondering if Daniel belonged to one of those families?

Daniel went off to work in New Castle Upon Tyne, Eng. and he married Bridget Murray (daughter of Thomas Murray).  They emigrated from New Castle to Archbald, Pa, USA around 1867.

Any help in identifying the parents of Daniel McGowan, or his townland of birth, would be greatly appreciated.
