Did Canon Patrick Augustine Sheehan have an uncle on his fathers side? I know Canon Sheehan's father was named Patrick and his mother named Joanna Regan, but I can't find any information about the elder Patrick Sheehan's family. My great grandmother, Mary Cecelia Sheehan was related to Canon Sheehan. An original manuscript of his work was in my grandmothers possession in the 1940's and there are many letters written to her referring to her relative, Canon Sheehan. I am trying to find my great mothers parents names.

I went to www.familysearch.org and found two records which be pertinent. The first is a baptismal index record for a Mary Cecelia Sheahan in 1876 with parents P. J. Sheahan and Fanny O'Brien. The second is a death index record for a Mary C. Sheehan who died in Mallow in 1955 and was born in 1876. Hope this helps.

I'm also doing research on Patrick Augustine Sheehan as we were told by my grandfather that my family was related to him. My research so far shows his relatives spelled their name "Sheahan", and his baptismal certificate also showed his name with that spelling. Another relative mentioned Patrick Augustine Sheehan changed his name to "ee" at some point. I haven't been able to find much else so far.
