I am trying to determine the church associated with this baptism and any other information available. I believe they may be the parents Sally Coglan (my gggg grandmother).

I am visiting next year and want to visit the churches and areas if I can connect the dots. Thanks so much Ireland for reaching out.

The church would be St. Erasmus (see below). I assume you know that Co. Cork and Co. Offaly are a good distance apart.

  • Thank you for your prompt reply, Roger. I am a little puzzled by the distances and was wondering how much people travelled at that time, especially since I am sure my family were peasants.

Perhpas that is not the correct Daniel.

  • Samantha:

Aghada is in southeast Cork. In the early 19th century, families did not move too far. I think it is unlikely that the two records relate to the same Daniel.

  • Hello,

if you want quick online access to the records, then http://offaly.rootsireland.ie/ is the way to go.

I have some local volunteers in Drumcullen and will ask them if they can get access to the parish records.

    Kind regards

  • There is no townland Glin in Aghada and the First 2 priests are R I P and the third is no longer here

There is no way anyone could have travelled from Offaly to Aghada
