Hello all,
I am looking for any information on my ancestors. My 2nd great grandfather was born in Ballysilla, Wexford, Ireland on April 9th or 10th 1815 (not 100% on this) and he married Mary Whalen in 1842 in same location. He came to america in April of 1857 with three irish born children, Joseph Gordon (born in 1847), Bernard Bryan Gordon(born in 1849) and, Nicholas Gordon (born in 1854). My Great grandfather (Thomas Gordon) was born in U.S. in 1859.
Mary Whalen, my 2nd great grandmother, was also born in Ballysilla, Wexford, Ireland on December 24 1824.
Any help would be great for I have reached a dead end here. I hope to find out their parents names, and some siblings. It is my goal to find living realitives still in Ireland.

Jason:
Ballysilla is in Kilmallock civil parish. I looked at the 1853 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Kilmallock. There were five different Gordons in Ballysilla at that time and also two Whelans. Records for the Catholic Church in that area start in 1856 which will not help you. I don't know if the family followed the "normal" naming patterns for their children. If they did then the father of the four boys would be Nicholas and the grandfather Joseph. There was a Joseph listed on the Griffiths. There were three Gordon families in Ballysilla in the 1901 census. Not sure how they connect to your Gordons. I also looked at the 1833 Tithe Applotment listings for Kilmallock and there were four different Gordons (Owen, Patrick, Joseph and Brian) in Ballysilla at that time.

Ballysilla is a townland in the parish of Ballymurrin and Kilmallock is the old name for that parish.Just to let you know that the graveyard is in Kilmallock but the local church is in Ballymurrin and the official name of the parish is Crossabeg / Ballymurrin.
