Looking for Denis McGillicuddy, probably born sometime between 1820 and 1832. A family member went to Ireland many years ago and met with family and prepared a family tree, however, I can't seem to find any information on Denis - birth, death, marriage. His father is listed as Thade Corney McGillicuddy and their homestead, according to my information, was Annablaha, Kilcummin, Killarney. My family member William Carr worked with Con and Margaret McGillicuddy listed as still living on part of the old homestead. Denis married Julia O'Connor and had 9 children, 6 of whom emigrated to the USA. Three stayed in Ireland, Timothy (b. 1852), Con (b. 1853) and Ellen (b. 1855). Any help would be appreciated....I am so stuck at this point.

Lynda:
I located this 1886 civil death index record for a Denis MacGillicuddy in the Killarney registration district. The year of birth matches your information. You can get a copy of this death record by writing to the GRO. Their website has changed http://www.welfare.ie/en/Pages/Apply-for-Certificates.aspx Hit the link for a death certificate form in English. You will then be asked for a User Name and Passwor, hit cancel and the form should come up. Fill out the form, provide the quarter/year of death, registration district (Killarney) and the volume and page number ( 5 and 241). A copy costs around 4 euros. You can have them e-mail the copy to you.

Johanna A. ("Hannah") McGillicuddy
1865 – 1943
Johanna (Hannah) arrived in the USA in 1885, and married Andrew Simon Noonan on April 23, 1889, had seven children -and was my 2nd Great-grandmother. They lived in Grafton, MA for a few years, and then lived in Worcester, MA for the remainder of their lives. I don't know if this is any help to you, but ask away if you have any questions.
Also, please see the other McGillicuddy threads on this forum, there is further info.
