Searching for the family of my great grandfather, John Connolly, possibly from Kinlough born about 1870.  I do not know his parents or siblings names.  John would have gone to NYC, USA 1895-1897.  Married Mary Travers from Manorhamilton about 1897 in NYC.  Travers ancestors have identified Kinlough as a residence.  I have found 2 possibilities on Family Search:  b 1869 son of Thomas and Mary Meehan

b 1871  son of John & Catherine McIntyre.  Any information is appreciated,

Without some additional clues, it will be difficult to find your great-grandfather. Kinlough is a village in North Leitrim near the Sligo and Donegal borders. I checked the 1901 census for Kinlough and surrounding townlands and there are many Connollys in the area. There are also a number of John Connollys born in the Ballyshannon registration district in the years 1869-1872. (The very top of Leitrim is part of the Ballyshannon, Donegal registration district).

Do you know the name of the oldest son of John and Mary? Possibly, we could use that name to identify the father of John and go from there.
