My great grandfather Michael Regan I believe lived in Buttevant in the 1800s.  His parents were Patrick Regan and Mary Horgan.  I know that Patrick Regan and Mary Horgan were married 20 Jun 1853.  Patrick's place of residence is listed as Charleville.  Their children were:

Denis born 1854

David born 1856

Michael born 1858

Margaret 1862 (?)

Patrick 1868

Cornelius 1870

the places of birth that I have found list Annagh, Buttevant and Charleville.  I know that Mary Horgan Regan and Denis, MIchael, Margaret, Patrick and Cornelius left Ireland in July 1881, arriving in NYC July 11 1881.  David allegedly arrived in Boston in 1874 based on his naturalization papers.  Cannot find anything on my great great grandfather Patrick Regan.  Would love to know if any Regans are still in the area.

I also found a daughter Bridget. Possibly she died young. I tried to look for a death index record for Patrick but the site I use www.findmypast.ie is down. I will try tomorrow.

I looked at www.findmypast.ie for Patrick Regan civil death index records for the period 1870-1881. There were only 4  records. Two were for children and the other was for a Patrick born in 1802. The only one that made sense was the one below  ( Keep in mind that not all deaths were registered for various reasons).

To get a copy of this record you have to write to the GRO www.groireland.ie  They have a new web site. Hit the link titled Apply for Certificates. Then hit the link for Death Certificate in English. A screen will pop-up asking for a User Name and Password. Cancel out of this screen and the form should pop up. Fill it out and add the info below (year of death, registration district and volume and page number ( 20 and 389)). Make sure you ask for a copy only which costs around 4 euros.
