O'Connor/Connor/Keating families near Derryginagh, Cork, Ireland: known names include father: Jeremiah O'Connor, b. 1810, mother: Anne Harrington, children Catherine, James J. b. 1849, Julia, Helena, etc. Catherine married a Spillane. James O'Connor married Margaret Keating, sister of William Keating. Following emigration, James and Margaret O'Connor lived in Oil City, Venango, Pennsylvania, USA. Some Irish records list the name as "Connor", but the family always used the Irish "O'Connor" in the USA. Later USA census records list "Irish Free State" as the given birthplace for James J. O'connor and Margaret Keating O'Connor. Descendants of Catherine O'Connor and Daniel Spillane lived in Pennsylvania and, following her death, moved to London. The Spillane name in the USA was changed to "Splain".
