seeking Francis (Timothy) Considine 1785 - 1870 ish

Not much luck with the search for your people I'm afraid.

There are no birth / baptism records of Francis Considine 1785 + - 5 years in any county on www.rootsireland.ie/

There is 1 for Timothy Considine 1785 + - 5 but it is from Limerick

I couldn't find a marriage record

The only birth / baptism record for Barbara Green was Barbara Green 1813 Dublin.

Thanks for looking Col. I had come across the Limerick Record before and its not yet clear if this is my Francis. I'm hoping someone in the parish will see the message and have a look for me or make a suggestion of where to look.

I have taken a look at both 1901 and 1911 Census - see attached word doc.
Do these names mean anything to your family?
I live locally and I have never heard of that particular name - but families did move about and I will check
out the North Abbey Cemetery burial book for you.

Thank you for this information. Francis (or timothy) would have been dead by 1901 but was alive in 1870 because his name appears on his son Timothy's marraige cert to Mary Coughlan.

The residents of house 2, Mary( 67) and Mary (35) would be his daughter and grand-daughter respectively. 

The Residents of house 5 Thomas (20) and Barbra (23) are his grand-children.

The residents of house 3 Mary (60) was his daughter in law and John (29) was his grandson.

A record of his death/ burial would be immese help - I think he would have died between 1870-1880 but maybe he survived up to 1900.

Thank you again, I am in Cork and happy to travel to find any record which may relate to Francis (may appear as Thomas/Timothy/ Tade) Considine. The name considine is often poorly spelled too.

Hi Maureen,

I checked out the Youghal burial book and there are NO Considines buried in North Abbey Cemetery.
however the book only goes back to early 1900's - this cemetery is being done at the moment on www.historicgraves.ie

I also checked out Killeagh Cemetery and sorry to say there is no family of that name there either.
Maureen - when the weather gets good we will be transcribing Clonpriest Old Section and I will keep an eye out for your family surname.

I have been looking up your Considine surname and I came across the following:

It was a Folklore Project that took place in primary schools back in 1937/38.  Not all schools took part, but alot did here in East Cork.
They can be seen in UCC Boole Library - its free for a one look-up.  Just ring them beforehand to make sure that there is a machine free for your use.

Hi if you can get to buy the book Killeagh Parish Through The Ages page 256 has a photo of Kyle school pupils c1925-26 a May and Tess Considine are in it . Also on page 452 is a photo of three boys with their brother Noel Considine. The Considine sisters would have gone to school with my mother now decd. They lived in a hse on Clashel hill on the site which is now John Dalys hse.Ballinvarrig would be the adjoining Townland.

Hi - Chris Considine here (from the reunion).  I have a question about your Francis Considine.  My gr gr gr grandfather was a Michael Considine, born in 1825.  Francis was the middle name of all of them and they were all Michael, as well.  Could your Francis be related to my Michael b. 1825?  I previously thought his father was either Michael also, or possibly Andrew.  They all lived in Ardeamush townland.  Craig and I actually walked the old family land, which is now owned by Mickey Considine (also Michael).  Mickey was at the reunion also.  If I can validate this Michael's father and his sons, a raft of new research opportunity opens.

My Timothy/ Francis is probably from Limerick (but I still have not verified this for sure as it would mean he lived a very long life for the time) - his father is listed as Michael also, circa 1747. (that Michael's father was Patrick). Send me your email address privately on facebook and I will share my records with you. :)

Hi Maureen, I don't think I have any additional information for you, but this Timothy/Francis is my great x 3 grandfather. His grandson Thomas b 1878 was my great grandfather. We are the Mallow Considines. Just wondering if you made any progress on this. Regards, Brid
